Instead of blocking the excess or the security deposit on your card, Cardoo Cyprus Ltd answers for that amount to Autos Lido. No money is held on your card.
Who can take it
- A Visa or MasterCard credit card in the lessee's own name, issued in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada or Switzerland.
- Not available with debit, prepaid or virtual cards, or with digital wallets without credit backing. In those cases you can still rent with an excess, with a security deposit or with your own insurance.
- Autos Lido may decline this option for operational or risk reasons.
What it covers
The excess or security deposit, repairs, fines, tolls, fuel, cleaning and mileage, up to €25,000 per contract. Theft and total loss are not covered this way: they remain covered by the Autos Lido policy on the terms of the rental contract.
What it costs
It is an optional service with a charge. The amount is stated in the particular conditions of your contract, accrues for the whole rental period and is not refunded if you return the vehicle early.
What happens if there is damage
Autos Lido claims the amount from Cardoo. Once Cardoo has paid, it claims that amount from you, together with the handling fees set out in the Privacy Notice and Consent you sign when collecting the vehicle. Renting with no deposit is not insurance and does not replace the cover you have purchased.
Where it is written down
Clauses 25 and 26 of the General Rental Conditions, with the guarantee amounts per group in Annex I.
